Some additional details have been announced recently for the BSB support classes in 2026.

British Sportbike includes World SBK round

As previously announced, the Sportbike class will be titled as a British championship rather than a National championship for 2026. This reflects the policy of referring to them as British championships if there is a World Championship equivalent, as there will be next year following the launch of the World Sportbike Championship.

Alongside this, the Sportbikes will be represented at the British World SBK round at Donnington. They will feature in a Pirelli International Sportbike Trophy event over the weekend with four 10-lap races. This will be a standalone event and the points gained will not count towards the British Championship.

Superteens becomes Junior Sportbike

The Kawasaki Superteens class is being expanded to include other manufacturers and will be a National Junior Sportbike championship. They will race twice at eight BSB rounds over the season.

Talent Cup renamed

The R&G British Talent Cup is being renamed and will now be titled the R&G Moto4 British Cup.

As in 2025, they do not run at Knockhill, Cadwell, one of the Oulton Rounds and the final Brands Hatch round. They will race twice over the Silverstone MotoGP weekend again, as will the National Superstock Championship.

BMW Cup continues

The BMW F 900 R Cup has worked exactly as intended since it was introduced in 2023, providing an affordable way for people to go racing.

The championship will continue in 2026 using the four race format (two heats, a Last Chance Qualifier and Main Event). They won’t race at the opening round at Oulton and instead will get their season started at Donnington (15-17 May).
