TAG Racing have announced today that Scott Swann will make a Wildcard appearance for them in the next British Superbike round, taking place at Assen over 18-20 September.

The news comes after the team parted ways with Charlie Nesbitt following a disappointing first eight rounds in which he earned only 31 points combined. That compared to the 123 he won across the first 8 rounds of last season on a Mastermac Hawk Honda.

It’s been a rough season for the TAG Racing team with Fraser Rogers having had similar struggles to Nesbitt, collecting only 41 points so far. The team’s previous announcement that they are moving from Honda to Ducati in 2027 gives the sense that they cannot wait for this season to be over.

Consequently, working with a new rider and giving an opportunity to Scott Swann could be just what they need to finish 2026 on a positive note.

The same can be said for the Northern Irishman. Budget issues meant that he was unable to build on a solid 2025 debut season in BSB and he has been scrimping and saving this year to put his own bike out in the Superstock class just to keep on the grid.

Swann competed on the Honda last season, and started on a Fireblade in Superstock this season before a recent change to BMW, so he will have some familiarity with the bike. Both the rider and team are being realistic with their expectations, but it’s a chance for Swann to make a good impression as he tries to get back on the BSB grid full time in 2027.
